Beautiful and nice shape, early 60's Slingerland "Super Krupa" Snare drum in a wonderful Red Sparkle finish.
Drum measures 5.5"x 14", features a solid Maple shell with reinforcment rings, Black/Brass badge (non loop on bottom of S), Rim Shot hoops with 8 Sound King lugs, Super strainer and butt end and internal tone control.
The Super or Clam shell strainer and butt end work well, snare has what looks to be it's original snare wires which are functional but have wear. Overall, the chrome is in very nice shape for its age. There are some spots of oxidation and pitting on a few of the lugs and hoops.
The wrap is tight with less than expected wear. There are small typical scratches here and there. There is a spot of wear from heads over the years and a section near the edge that has worn (see pictures).
The inside of the shell has some cracks in the interior finish, this is very common for Slingerland drums in particular. The reinforcement rings are tight and the bearing edges are factory and awesome. There is a small ding near one bearing edge (see picture). Modern heads are a little snug but not tight and they tune up well.
This is really a very nice example of a classic and highly sought after snare, contact us with any questions.
